On February 27,
2004, Executive Order #39 was issued, recognizing the sovereignty of
the 11 tribal governments in Wisconsin and the unique
government-to-government relationship that exists between the State and the
tribes. To carry out
the Order, the State-Tribal Consultation Initiative was established.
Tribes of Wisconsin Reference
The Tribes of Wisconsin reference book, prepared by the Department
of Administration, contains information about the history of the Tribes, elected
Tribal officials, Tribal government, and Tribal Demographics.
